A choice that is less of a burden on caregivers

PD is associated with a low level of caregiver burden and increased patient independence. 35% of caregivers for PD patients experience low levels of caregiver burden vs 13% of caregivers for HD patients.10

Reduced clinic visits and therapy invasiveness enables patients to continue daily activities whilst reducing the burden on caregivers.

  • Modern PD patients visit a clinic 4-13 times per year whereas in-center HD patients must visit a clinic 3 times a week (156 times per year)11
  • Remote patient management enables proactive patient care16
